Restaurant Find: Llama Inn NYC

It’s rare to eat a plate of food that’s new, unexpected, and unlike anything you’ve eaten before. For those who dine out regularly, novelty is hard to come by, so when it does, we remember it. So that’s why I’m finding it impossible to forget the food I ate at Llama Inn NYC – the new-ish Peruvian restaurant on a sunny corner in Williamsburg that everyone seems to be talking about.

Llama Inn is not “basically the same” as that other restaurant serving Latin food in your neighborhood. The chef, Erik Ramirez, is Peruvian and was the sous chef at Eleven Madison Park; the space is exceptional with floor to ceiling windows on three of its 4 sides; and nothing you eat or drink will be anything short of unforgettable.

Come to Llama Inn for brunch, lunch, dinner, or drinks. Come with a date, with a group, or for a solo meal. In any case, come with an open mind, order something you’ve never tried, trust the chef, and you will leave happy.

She’s a street-food obsessed food and travel writer who spends her free time watching Anthony Bourdain reruns and exploring the nooks and crannies of her NYC neighborhood, Chinatown. Her heart is torn between Paris, the Greek Islands, Japan, and Penang, so her dream last supper would look something like a four course meal of sashimi, laksa, fresh grilled octopus, and a heaping plate of gooey French cheese.
