Restaurant Find: Navy NYC

I have no doubt that Navy NYC is going to make it onto a slew of best new restaurant lists for 2014. This small and delightfully quirky restaurant serves up excellent seafood cooked with a lightness of touch and a heavy focus on freshness and vegetables. Just about every dish on the menu is eye rolling, moment-of-bliss kind of good.

Inside you’ll find restaurant interiors with a subtle WWII maritime feel. Does it sound cheesy for a seafood restaurant to have a maritime style interior? Not when you throw in Japanese indigo curtains, a wall lined with antique French linens and vintage army tents with some industrial lighting. Then you’ll see that this space has been designed with real consideration and taste. You’d even be forgiven for thinking you stepped onto Wes Anderson’s French cousin’s Brooklyn inspired film set.

Best Bit: Each dish is styled to perfection. It’s clear that executive chef Camille Becerra has put her food styling prowess into good use as she designed the menu.
