NYC Restaurant Find: Balaboosta
Balaboosta is a casually sophisticated restaurant serving lucky Nolitans with Middle Eastern comfort food with a decided Mediterranean twist.
The food here is the draw card. We already know that Chef Einat Admony knows the food of her hometown Israel well – take Taim, Admony’s first brick and mortar foray into the New York food scene as your proof – and Balaboosta follows suit with a distinctly more polished approach.
The most exciting thing for me is that there is now a place in New York where I can eat real hummus. My hope is that one day I’ll miraculously discover it on the refrigerator shelves at Wholefoods (hint!).
