The resurrected American shoe polish brand Shinola that now prides itself on its handcrafted-in-Detroit watches, bicycles and leather goods has recently opened its first flagship store in the Tribeca neighbourhood of NYC ”“ and what an impressive store it is!

If the man in your life likes the finer things in life, reads Monocle magazine, travels often and enjoys the feeling of having his precious possessions bound in leather, then this should be your first stop for Christmas shopping.

Even if you’re not shopping for gifts, this store is worth seeing for the soaring space, vaulted skylights and spiral staircase all of which are designed by the infamous David Rockwell.
