Guesthouse Find: The Lisboans Lisbon

Lisbon is incredibly proud of its canned goods industry, so a rundown ex-canning factory was perhaps the perfect site to transform into a stunning new guesthouse. Welcome to The Lisboans ”“ a dreamy respite of 15 boutique apartments, its industrial architecture still beautifully intact and even the tiniest details considered and polished.

From the Crosley record player and mid-century modern furniture, to the perfectly placed cacti and carefully curated neighbourhood guide, the creative vision is palpable.  Isaac and Marta (the heavenly hosts at The Lisboans) are masters in crafting the perfect stay, and bursting with local recommendations for the freshest croissants, hottest coffee spots and most impressive sunset vantage points.

Each morning, a breakfast bag is hung on your door ”“ freshly squeezed juice and traditional pastéis de nata (still warm) to fuel your wanderings through the steep, cobble-stoned streets of colourful Lisbon.

The kind of holiday home you never want to leave, The Lisboans is perfect for weekend city breaks or longer residences; a bolt-hole in which to relax, or a base from which to explore. And with bright and breezy Prado Restaurante plus a cute grocery/coffee shop located right beneath the guesthouse, you may not even feel the need to venture beyond the Travessa do Almada, and the little slice of Portuguese perfection that is The Lisboans.
